Year 7: The Tournament Banquet & Awards Ceremony

Another great tournament banquet weekend is in the books! The final scores for Year 7 are on the leaderboard. Congratulations to all the winners!

Wooooweeee… What. A. Weekend.

We can confidently say that the Year 7 Tournament Banquet & Awards Ceremony was the best yet! We’ve come a long way since Year 1, and we thank each and every one of you for coming along for the ride. Your support means the world to us.

We appreciate your patience on the Year 7 Tournament results. It took a few days to recover from the banquet and we’ve been busy trying to get all of our winners’ prizes confirmed and ordered! Keep reading for a few highlights from the weekend and visit the Year 7 Banquet Recap page for all of the details (including the biggest shake-ups of this year) and more photos. Next up, Year 8!

FRIDAY NIGHT

Friday night started with a bang—we kicked off the evening with our 4th Annual Film Fest. The audience viewed 10 films submitted by Quest participants and after the show concluded, the crowd’s favorite films were selected through live text voting.

The night wrapped up with socializing and a concert from rising country music star, Sadie Bass.

THE 4TH ANNUAL QUEST HUNT CO FILM FEST

1ST PLACE: THORN

1st place went to an incredible film that encapsulated the emotional rollercoaster that is whitetail deer hunting. Gavin Kolars set out to get a buck he called “Thorn” on the ground. After missing and accidentally injuring the buck on his first encounter, he caught up with him again, just shy of two weeks later. Luck landed on his side and the buck presented him the perfect 20 yard shot. Suddenly all of the seasons’ hardships fell away, along with a few tears of joy! This film showcased the highs and lows that many hunters experience throughout the season and it earned Gavin 1st place in the film fest. He took home a pair of Vortex Viper 10×50 binoculars as well as a $500 Badlands giftcard.

2ND PLACE: B’S BIG 8

This film was submitted by Brady Bradley. His daughter, Beretta, shot her “Big 8” and the audience felt the excitement right along with her! The whole family came to help out with the recovery, ending with memory that they’ll never forget. This film earned 2nd place and took home a $500 Badlands giftcard and a Garmin Epix Pro- Sapphire Edition watch.

3RD PLACE: FAMILY TRADITION

Emersyn’s first deer grabbed the audience by the heart strings and earned them some big prizes! Nothing beats witnessing a child fight through their nerves and earn a successful hunt. To top it off, it was her Dad’s birthday! Both Mom and Dad were there in the blind to celebrate with her. Talk about a great birthday present and memorable family moment. They took home a $500 Badlands giftcard as well as a Vortex rangefinder!

Saturday Night

Saturday night was the night of all nights. Scoring wrapped up and participants were on pins and needles to hear where they officially landed on the National Land Realty Leaderboard! In the meantime, everyone gawked over all the incredible racks that were brought to the banquet for official scoring and viewing.

We loved seeing the genuine reaction of folks finding out their positions. Even more, we appreciate how supportive of a community we have! Everyone is always so pumped for each other—just like the way you feel sitting around the fire at deer camp.
