This is a quick and easy Salisbury Steak recipe that tastes like you’ve been in the kitchen all day long. Packed with comforting flavor, you’ll want more but will wonder where you’ll fit it as you ignore the sound of your waistband screaming for help.
What You’ll Need
For The Meat:
- Large cast-iron skillet or electric skillet
- 1 lb. ground meat (our go-to for this is venison, but feel free to use your favorite)
- 1 egg
- ½ c bread crumbs
- 3 tsp minced garlic
- 4 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- ½ packet French onion soup mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
For The Gravy
- 1 pack French onion soup mix
- 2 ½ c beef stock
- ½ c Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ c butter
- ¼ c all-purpose flour
- 2 cloves minced garlic
Directions
- Heat your cast iron skillet to a medium-high heat.
- Get a large mixing bowl and combine meat mixture: ground meat, bread crumbs, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and French onion soup mix. Evenly combine.
- Patty out mixture.
- Brown patties on each side. Do not cook all the way. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add butter to skillet.
- Add flour and stir until brown (about 3ish minutes).
- Add 1 cup of beef stock.
- Add remaining ingredients and stir evenly.
- Add patties back to the skillet and simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
We love to pair this main course with white rice and a couple of different sides. Parmesan-crusted Brussels sprouts and honey-garlic roasted carrots are always a good pick to really make this meal come together. These patties reheat really well and almost seem to have enhanced flavor the next day!
Enjoy, yall!
