Harvest Story: Crawled into a lone cedar tree early this morning. Pressure was rising throughout the morning, and it was below zero. During the last cold snap of the year, I hunted hard the past few weeks and saw no mature buck movement until yesterday, when I saw 30+ does and 12+ bucks. This buck stepped out right at 8 this morning to feed on some corn and alfalfa, and I made a 35-yard shot. It was a little back, so we gave him til 2 pm. Tracked him at 2 and bumped him, so we backed out until the 4. Went in at 4 expecting to find him dead, and we spotted him still alive. Stalked into 30 yards and put a follow-up shot into the vitals, and he expired in that bed.
