Harvest Story: “Ole Stickers”. I wounded this buck in 2019, a high shoulder bow shot. The next year, 2020, I had him at 20 yards, but never had a smart shot. Flash forward to this year, and he has practically been a nocturnal ghost. Starting with multiple trail camera pictures of him in velvet, running with, really, the main buck we had eyes on at this spot, somewhere around a 190-inch stud, give or take. I am just as happy, if not happier, with “Stickers” as I would have been with the bigger buck we hardly had any history with. These are such incredible, smart animals that deserve so much respect. A very bittersweet harvest, and one my Dad, Brother, and I will remember forever.
