Harvest Story: I have been working hard since July to find a buck worthy of my arrow. Running 30+ cameras, 21 of which are cell cameras on multiple different farms and was struggling to find a mature shooter. I had a total of 5 pics of this buck all season. The evening started out bad. I got in much later than I wanted due to other responsibilities. Bumped a couple bedded doe near my stand on the way in, contemplating whether or not to leave or climg on up for the remainder of the evening. I choose correctly! Got my harness secured and sat down at 4:15pm. Yes, that is correct, not until 4:15pm. I looked up and saw a tail flicker. It was him at 100 yards working his way my direction with another nice 8 following close behind. Having such little history with this buck and not 100% sure what buck it was, I continued examining him through my binos to verify whether or not he was mature. He was very rutted down, but the big long face, black as night tarsals, and incredible frame had me reaching for my bow when he was just 50 yards away. When he got to 8 yards, I let the vap tko, topped with a Helix broadhead eat! Incredible blood immediately following the impact. He made it about 80 yards leaving a blood trail Helen Keller could follow before he expired in less than 30 seconds. He was dead by 4:18pm! To think, that morning I was feeling worn down from the season and almost decided to hang up my bow and then in a matter of minutes on stand, all the blood, sweat, and ticks (from early season) felt oh so worth it!
