Harvest Story: The buck came into one of my shooting lanes to the south of my stand. He was walking quartering towards me coming from the southwest. As he quartered just enough I set up and took my shot with my .308 rifle. He responded like I didn’t hit him or made a poor shot. The buck quarter turned to his right running to the Southeast. The shot was made at 12:45. Since I didn’t know if I made a lethal shot, we decided to wait until dark to see if we could find a blood trail. After shooting hours I walked to the spot of impact looking for the blood trail. I shined my flashlight in the woods and saw a down deer about 30 yards from the shot. As i walked up to the buck I examined the buck to see that I made a lethal shot right in front of his left shoulder. My teammate Garrett helped with the drag and hang. That’s how I tagged the buck.
