Harvest Story: The previous night before was the first time I ever laid eyes on this buck in person in 4 years. He came into 10 yards through the timber and I could never get a clear shot. I barely slept that night. Woke up the next morning thinking he had chased does off the property. I look to my left at 7:45am the next morning, and there he stood, 100 yards away, coming out of a bedding area. He slowly worked his way down the tree line, closing the distance, this was now, the 2nd time in four years I have ever seen this deer in person. He chose a path that led from one field to another, provided me a quartering away opportunity, grunted and stopped him, was able to land a heart shot, and the rest is history. Thousands of trail camera pictures, watching him grow to his full potential then go downhill and become an 11 this year, some of my dad, brothers, and I sanity, and the chapter was finally closed on the “Big 12”. Will appreciate him and the memories forever.
