Harvest Story: This guy has been a regular to my PureWhitetail clover/chicory plot for a couple years, but this year with his big double brows I decided to make him my number one buck. When he daylighted on my Tactacam at 7:30a.m. I was half a mile away on another farm. I packed my gear and hauled but to get there. I sat for two hours and saw nothing. I went home had lunch and took a shower. When I came back I moved deeper into his bedding area. I hit my stand at 1:30pm and once I was settled i did a rattling sequence with the black rack and began to scan the bedding area. I had a couple smaller bucks work their way through almost immediately. I gave them a few some grunts just to see how much it peaked their interest. They never even gave me a look. As I was watching them I heard a twig snap over my right shoulder. When I turned around he was standing there 25 yards broadside. I sent a Grim Reaper through the 12 ring and he didn’t go 70 yards. This year just happens to be the year my boy got his first buck as well. It’s been a great start to the 2024 season. Doug and Brent helped me drag him out, because I just had spinal fusion two months ago.
