Harvest Story: I’ve followed this buck since my first picture in May and I knew he’d be something special. Based on hours of scouting and pictures over the summer I had this guy to the minute almost everyday leading into the season opener. September 14th I slept in my haybale blind I’d built in the plot I made just for this deer. I did see him opening morning just 150 yards away. And then he went nocturnal. Going into this week he was starting to get back to a normal day light pattern. Tuesday and Thursday at last light. I hunted the haybale Friday but he didn’t show. Saturday the 28th I set up in the haybale again, the evening had been slow only one smaller buck. Shortly after sunset he stepped into the cut path leading out of his bed into the food plot. Following the script perfectly he walked directly to me and turned broadside and began eating at 20 yards and I was able to put a good arrow in this incredible deer! This is my 8th season hunting whitetails, my first season being able to build a property to hunt and grow mature whitetail deer myself and I am so grateful to see alot of sweat and hard work pay off!!!
